Help keep your babies safe, and help others know about the dangers of foxtails!
Print out and keep handy. Give to friends and family. Give to vets and pet-sitters.
Foxtails are grasses with seed awns (the foxtail- shaped tip of the grass blade containing seeds). Foxtails have barbed, razor-sharp needles that are extremely dangerous to our fur kids. Nature designed them to move in one direction—forward. They dig in and they do not dissolve or come out on their own.
Foxtails easily attach themselves to adventurous fur kids and can burrow deeper and deeper with each movement. Foxtails love paws and can easily become embedded (and hidden) between tender toes. They can work their way into ANY part of the body. Foxtail fragments can easily go up the nose and migrate to the brain. Inhaled foxtails can perforate a lung.
Foxtails that go unnoticed can require surgery to be removed. Embedded foxtails can cause discharge, abscesses, swelling, pain, and death.
SAFETY TIPS: Stay out of areas with foxtails and make sure your yard doesn’t contain them. If your pet has mingled with foxtails, make sure to do a thorough inspection afterward: Brush coat, feel every part of the body with hands, and look closely at ears, nose, eyes, underbelly, between toe pads, and underneath collars. Also check inside mouth, around lips, and private parts! Pets can chew on foxtail grasses and get them lodged in gums and throat. They will not dissolve or work their way out!
Any pet can get foxtails, but animals with long fur, long ears, and curly fur can be especially prone to foxtail problems.
Foxtail Grass is common all up and down the West Coast but has also spread across the country, according to the U.S. Forest Service, Foxtails populate ALL but a few states (Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, and South Carolina, and Virginia-but be on the lookout, Foxtails are traveling to other areas).
It’s also found throughout most of Canada, as well as in some areas of Mexico and it has equally lethal counterparts across the globe and goes by other names like, Spear Grass, Wall Barley, Mouse Barley, etc. ( a quick internet search can help you determine what grasses (if any) are dangerous in your area.

U.S. SHIPPING RATES:
My shipping rates are weight-based & taken directly from UPS & USPS price charts. I ship as economically as possible from my studio in Virginia with the exception of my Organic Collection which is printed/shipped by my eco-powerhouse global partner Teemill. They ship quickly from the US & Europe depending upon your location.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING RATES:
"Amy's Boutique" orders (orders shipped by me from my Virginia studio) ALWAYS ship with an awesome free gift! I'm sorry shipping is expensive—I charge customers what the carriers charge me and rates are always increasing. Here is a tip! 8oz up to 2lbs is the SAME shipping cost (around $25 USD).
Orders under 8oz are about $15 USD to ship. This includes keychains, mini calendar, cards, coaster sets, prints.
Most parcels take 7-14 business days to arrive, but some packages can take 21+ during the busy holiday season. Once your package arrives in your country, your local postal carrier and Customs handle your package. Customs sometimes can delay your package, but most parcels get through to you quickly!
International customers are responsible for any Taxes and Import Duties. In my experience, most parcels arrive at your doorstep without any duties or fees required.

I'm very choosy about the vendors I manufacture with—I'm a stickler for quality. I don't always get it right, but I try. If you ever have an issue with something, let me know. I want you to be happy with your purchase.
